Documents executed in the United States
and to be used in China should be authenticated by the Chinese Consulates in
the US. The Consulate authenticates documents such as birth/death
certificates, power of attorney, single status, marriage certificates, diplomas, adoption
application papers, business license, etc. The Chinese Consulate in Houston
certifies documents from the following 8 States:
Alabama,
Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Texas.
Procedures
1.
Applicant should
have documents notarized by a notary public.
2.
Applicant should
have documents certified by the Secretary of the State Office of his/her
State where the document is executed. Click here for the contact information of state certification
agencies.
3.
Mail original certified
documents to this office for Houston Chinese Consulate authentication.
Additional documents should be included as follows:
1) One
Authentication Application
Form (G1).

2) A copy of the photo/signature page of your passport.
3) Copies of the documents to be authenticated. For
documents related to property, business or commercial use, a complete copy
of all pages of the original documents. For all other documents, a copy of
the pages with seal and signature of notary public and all other
certification agencies/officers.
4) A copy of Articles of Incorporation, if the document
to be authenticated is a corporate or company document.
4.
Self-addressed
stamped envelope. For security
concern, trackable mail will be highly recommended (FedEx, UPS, Post Office Express Mail, Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation, or Certified Mail only). If you choose to use USPS Regular Mail or Priority Mail without confirmation to send passport(s), we are not
responsible for lost mail and lost passport(s).
5.
Please note that applications for same day service must be received by 10:30AM. You must therefore use the morning
delivery services of FedEx, UPS or DHL only.
